Ringshill nursing home closed on June 20th 2016. All residents were re-homed successfully. The site was forced to close because it was financially unstable.

The Explore

So after failing to gain entry to a disused John Lewis warehouse in Stevenage we went back down the train line to Huntingdon to try and explore this nursing home. To be honest I didn't think we were going to get inside but to our luck we found a second story window wide open. At first we though there were people living inside as the boiler was on max heat and steam was coming out of the vents on the side of the building. We called in through the window and got no reply so we risked entering. That was the best decision we made as when we came back for a revisit two days after the window was sealed and there were new alarms in place! This is by far the most preserved site I have ever visited. It had power, running water, working telephones, moving beds and even free WiFi! Heres the shots I got...

The now sealed entry. As you can see there is steam coming out of the side of the building.

Well done for getting in and seeing the place so quickly, they get sealed up in a matter of days now...I'm sure they must do it while some of the residents are still in their pajamas!
