Whilst On route to another explore with Rubex, we drove past this abandoned care home, so we decided to go have a explore and see what it was about! Not a lot of history is found on this location, was previously a care home for elderly and alzheimer‘s and terminally ill patients, In total 12 nursing care beds, which cost more than £750 per week for residents.

It terrifies me to think I might go down that route. Mind you, I probably won't make it to an old age either. (I actually think a gang of wasps will finish me!)

I know the homes have awesome staff (when they manage to recruit them) and everyone does as much as they can to make the residents lives as comfortable and happy as possible but I dunno - it still fills me with sadness. Those residents have lived their younger lives productively and looked forward to retirement, only to be hit with that. A real shame.
Although people live longer now and there's more chance of it forming, I do blame chemicals in food production and other contamination with food. Metals for example.

There's an almost new purpose built dementia care home only 1/4 mile from me here. They achieved seriously high standards and awards when operating as a home but for some reason it closed. Residents were transferred and staff paid off. The home is lived in by two families on 6 monthly tenancies just to ensure the building stays in good shape.

A sad closure that. An uncertain future too given how the UK is melting away.
An interesting place none the same and thanks for going to the effort.

Yes I totally agree have previously worked in that industry and it’s sad to see people like this! And I dread to think of the day I have to go into one or my parents! And my opinion there some good staff out there like every job get good and bad, but for what they receive in the price Of the care isn’t a lot, very profitable business and that’s what it shouldn’t be we are to blame for this because a lot of family’s find it easier and convient to just put them in a care home instead of looking after them! It’s very sad to see this! And I completely agree with what you’re saying! Was very weird how they had very little time to shut it down, I looked at cqc reports and it was of a good standard so I believe they wasn’t shut on cqc purposes? Shame quite a interesting place set in the middle of no where.

Yeah the stain glass is lovely shown up nice in the picture considering light wasn’t great!

Sadly due to thieves they took the copper pipe work and tanks, was like Niagra falls in there shame because the building is flooding out!
