Default St Olaves, Isle of Man - April 2019

This was obviously a beautiful home once, but now it's in a bad state, most of the upper floors are gone and it's very unstable. Locals often refer to it as The Nunnery, although I can't find any evidence of it actually being used as one, although it is opposite a church of the same name, so it wouldn't be too surprising. Permission has been granted for the demolition of the existing building and construction of 51 sheltered housing units.

Looks like it was a nice house at one time. Someone stole the floorboards.

Thanks! Yeah, there's surprisingly quite a lot here for the size of the place.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
