A trip down memory lane.

Here's the last place i'll share for now, i've still got a few other explores i'll share on here in a few weeks. I'll try and get their write-ups detailed as possible like I did with this report here.

I've spent a part of the lock-down typing up my good 2015 / 2016 exploring memories, trying to remember everything in as much detail as possible. I thought the days of finding random undocumented places like these out of the corner of my eye during an early morning bike-ride was now long gone. I was wrong. This place came up unexpectedly as I was on the way to check on a location I found in 2016 that ended up being nearly impossible to get to.

I could just about make out from the gap in the closed curtains was that the room was packed with antique furnishings. No tracks around in sight, and still nothing towards the side door. An old car that's left parked outside was almost absorbed by the hedge. Only thing left now was to find a way in.

Walking through uneven ground & treading through stinging nettles as high as me was even a memory I missed when it came to my earlier days of exploring regularly. I had a good look inside the outdoor sheds as I worked my way down, I found them all packed & left with beautiful old world objects inside. More old exploring memories all coming back to me. Eventually I made it down to the back, and sure enough. An entry point was found. A look through the curtains revealed shelves full of old out of date food and a sheet of paper from 2007. So here I am for the first time in 3 years, ready to explore & photograph an intact place that is completely new & unknown.

The house all throughout is untouched as I expected it to be, even down to the left over food scraps in the kitchen. The rooms are filled up with the original owners possessions, and the doorways are full of cobwebs that stick to your face. It's the sort of place where you keep coming back to and find something new each time. The year of abandonment is unknown and the previous owners history is undisclosed beyond the photos.

There's quite a lot of stuff there. If you're looking for dates of when it was abandoned look at newspapers, calendars and expirey dates on food stuffs. It will give you some clues. I noticed on one newspaper "Car of the year 1980", so that's a clue. I noticed in one bedroom a teenage girl might have occupied it and maybe a small boy. I wonder where they are and maybe wish sell the contents to an auction.

A lovely set of photos. Such a shame to see a sturdy, once-loved family home just being left to decay. I hope it can be sold on and rescued.

This really is fantastic. That modern TV box is really out of place. I've got that same K-9 on VHS. I notice there are two electricity meters. Seems it was two residences, or was at some point.
