Visited along with Gelston Castle (separate thread) May 2008.

History: (Formerly Barnbarrow) Classical Block dating from around 1770. Former Seat of the Vans-Agnew family, Barnbarroch house is notable for its connection with the famous landscape gardener and architect John Loudon who extensively remodelled the grounds. The house was burnt out in 1941.

I stopped for directions on the way and was told by a local man that the house is for sale. When I arrived there were a few building materials lying around and the terrace to the rear of the building had been recently levelled and gravelled. There were signs of some stabilization work on some sections of the house, but other areas were in severe danger of collapse.
Barnbarroch made for a great explore, there was a particularly interesting cellar area with storage compartments.

Another fabulous place. This is just the sort of dereliction I really like. :)
Btw, credo, they're in the wrong forum. If you go to forums and then find the appropriate one (military, leisure, etc) and post it up there. Hope that helps.

Looks like a great place to explore, lovely images even if they are somewhat hidden by the WM

They could have been great pictures......... could you make the watermark a bit less aggressive ?
Other people can do it.

Some very precarious brickwork there!!

Like others have said, the watermarks are far too big to be able to see the detail of the buildings you're visiting

That place is rather stunning! There is a place like that near me, except people live in the basement!!!

As for the watermark, I must be sooo tired - how the hell did i miss them first time round?!?!
