Just after visiting the abandoned house earlier, a few miles heading back towards Newport is an old farmhouse with residence attached. Here's some shots I managed to grab whilst there with my daughter; some have had tone-mapping applied, others not.

It seems to have not been used properly for some time, but there is evidence of 'overnighters' and kids being there partying.

One thing that was weird was that this afternoon my daughter heard a sound reminiscent of electric sparks, we looked around and she spotted what was obviously a short circuit, but one that was actually in progress. There was water close by, and my daughter didn't like it so asked to move away. Aw we moved away there was a lound bang as the circuit fuse went! Freaked us both out to be honest.

Here's a selection of shots.

Kitchen area (shows recent use... cups etc) I think I must have moved the camera in between the bracketed shots here as there's some blurring. These shots were handheld!!

Aaaah, is this place behind/middle of the Celtic Manor golf course? This looks remarkably like the one we visited back in February at the Wales meet. An old guy who lives on the opposite side of the road said the owner of the Celtic Manor owns this, and wanted to demolish it, but as there's bats there, he isn't allowed to do anything to it.

Sheep2405 will know, he's the one that took us lol.

I love that fireplace, and liked the house, but it looks like it's had a fire in it since we were last there.

Excellent pics, I do like this one.

Cheers,

:) Sal

It is, isn't it! 'Cats' something farm. Just looked for the full name but couldn't find it.
Definitely been fired since we were there. What a shame! It was a really good explore.
Cheers seven8. Good to see it again. :)

Thanks everyone, for your responses, these are much appreciated.

Yes, you are all correct - this is indeed the derelict farmhouse on the road that runs through the Celtic Manor golf course, I believe it was called 'Cats Ash Farm', it is actually on Cats Ash road.

I knew it was owned by the owner of the Celtic Manor (Mr Terry Matthews), but had no idea he was not able to demolish it due to bats - good thing, though I didn't see any when we were there.

I appreciate some may not like the style of photo's I posted, I guess it's a marmite thing - love it or hate it eh! :)

Love it, I like places like this. Plus, you can't beat taking the kids exploring.
