Had an evening spare and the weather was reasonable, so I decided to head out to Ramsey ROC post (my first ROC explore).

Didn't have great expectations as I'd seen pics elsewhere showing it to be pretty much trashed. Sadly, it lived up to my expectations and is in pretty poor condition. Barely worth photographing but, as the hatch cover is missing, it can only be a matter of time before some H&S crazed councillor or similar has it demolished, so thought I'd post a few pics.

Hilltop site overlooking a wide expanse of Fenland.

Vent with RAF Upwood lurking in the background.

Hatch cover missing and the local kids have even tried setting fire to it :(

Nothing much to see inside save for a few traces of comms cabling and half a ton of junk dumped down the hatch. Despite the 6 inches of water, local kids(?) have also attempted to set fire to the place inside.

Well Done on getting out on your first explore Hypo, excellent shots. What sort of camera are you packing mate?:)

These were shot with my Nikon D60. It's fantastic for low light flash photography, but I'm not hugely happy with it for general shots. Stopped off at RAF Upwood on the way home and grabbed a load of shots in the late evening sun expecting them to come out really well. Uploaded to my PC and found they're all pretty disappointing. The trouble is I'm having to edit the hell out of everything I shoot to make them look halfway decent, but I'm dropping sharpness, etc into the process :(

Really? :p
Nice find, didn't realise there was one there! Shame the li's missing that'll be completely flooded sooner or later.

OK, so I learnt photo annotation at the Ministry of Stating the Bleeding Obvious

It's not one you'll stumble upon by accident. It's about 1/4 mile down a dirt track beyond the end of a residential street. I wouldn't have found it without satnav and flash earth to help. I'd be half tempted to try and track down a hatch cover and to secure and clean it up a bit, but I'm probably about to get involved with the guardroom plans at Upwood, so timing's probably not good right now.

Have you found the one at Sutton?
