I had a trip out into Broadland this avo to this lovely little Post at Coltishall near Wroxham The post is a 1968 closure and is clean inside an not flooded. It was my first explore down an R.O.C Post but glad to say after plucking up the courage I finally got down there...The Orlit.. I think nearby and in good condition.

All in all a good little explore even with a bit of a push from Badoosh who gave me a bell and some encouragement! Cheers for thhat Mate!:) Cannot wait to do another one now as I know I can fit down the shaft!.

Thanks Swedish. I was a bit worried about getting down the shaft coz I am not all that thin! and I had visions of getting stuck!

Nice one bud, glad to see you made it down, cool pics too, well done! Nice to see it in good condition.

I've never seen 1 of these in real life but always thought the entrances would be quite large because of the fact people had to get up an down these with packs of gear on there back...is this not the case then??? if so dont think ill be paying a visit to any as been getting quite paranoid in small spaces lately an dont fancy hit the deck at bottom of the ladders

When I first got my feet into the shaft I was shit scared to be honest but I thought that I had just driven 20 miles and it would be stupid to wimp out.I am 17 stone and built like brick shithouse and I made it down comfortably in the end! dont let it stop you Swede!:)

Thanks a lot for that T.K. I was a bit worried about it but I have seen loads of R.O.C Posts on D.P and been absolutely fascinate by them. Glad I got down there though I very much enjoyed the visit as it was very rural and completely out of the way:)

The original task for the Royal Observer Core was one of Aircraft Recognition and Movement until the role was changed to a Cold War one of Nuclear Bomb Blast reporting, the Orlit is an Aircraft Observation Post nearly always next to a Bunker.:)
