As myself and MD were in the area we decided to check on Sutton Bassett post. A nice post that opened in 1959, with great views and a WW2 aircraft post remaining. When we arrived we found the torlift hatch had been left unlocked and slightly open. Closer inspection revealed the bits of metal where the key slots in were now missing. I've visited this post loads of times over the years and its never really changed, until now that is. Much of the paperwork which was on the wall has been removed, along with a certificate that was presented to the post. The light switch and timer has also gone. Before we got our post we tried to get permission to restore this one, but the owner was a bit of a ignorant old git! Now it seems the post is gradually falling into further disrepair, which is a real shame :(

I had a little bit of a tidy up while we were there, and managed to lock the hatch when we left too!
