I have put this in ROC posts because as far as I'm concerned that is what it is although a big one. Built in 1951 and in use till 1993 when it was sold to the present owner. He told me it was on the market as a farmhouse for £42000 he also said he and his wife liked the look of the place and were surprised when the estate agent turned on the light to the 150 yard entrance tunnel. Some how I feel he was glossing the story up a bit as the place is a weird looking farmhouse and is surrounded by a big fence. he obviously saw a business opportunity because he snapped the place up. I visited the place a few days ago though my wife stayed outside with her dogs. I took 122 odd photo's which can be seen on flickr, I could have stayed longer but felt a bit guilty about leaving her on her own.
any way a few of the photo's.
That's the bunker, not really an easy thing to miss.
The farmhouse, not like one I have seen. Note the big door there is a reason for this.
One of the attractions outside a SAM missile.
Part of the surrounding fence though I think the grey brackets inside have been added and the razor wire put in for effect as well as deterring infiltration.
Remeber the big doors well this is opposite them and is over a starewell.
The start of the 150 yard tunnel and it's cold down there.
Big blast doors. to the left of them is a mock up of an ROC post.
Dormatory though I think there may have been another in in the place as well.
One of the opps rooms.
One of the floors with doors leading off.
RAF radar room.
The main opps room with the minister of states office to the side.
Telephone exchange.
Back to the surface again and this is the guardhouse.
Hope you enjoyed the photos and there are more on Flickr though I still have to add notes
The place is worth a visit if your in the area though I do think the 9 quid entry is a little steep but I suppose he has to pay for the stuff he got for the place.
