The ROC post in Portadown Northern Ireland held its first open day of the year on Saturday, I popped along to see it restored to full glory.

I wont go in to detail as the restoration has been discussed previously on this thread but I though I would post some photos for you all.

The guys that have restored have done a fabulous job and its nice to see that there is no sign of vandalisim by bored chavy types. The local farmer also keeps his eye on this site and will aprroach anyone snooping around which can only be a good thing.

They have some really rare ROCMET stuff there - which is good to see..

The guys have done a fantastic job with this restoration and also have 3 rooms at the Ulster Aviation Society hanger dedicated to the ROC, 2 rooms with ops room display equipment and 1 room which is windowless set up as a bunker.

Nice to see how they would have looked. Thanks for posting I’ll take another peek when you’ve rotated the pics and my neck gets better.:)

Awesome job on the restoration, my only pick up is Im pretty sure thats the wrong gasmask, it should be an S6 and not S10. Even though the S10 was technically in service in 1986, most didnt get them until the very early 90s for Gulf War 1, and they got priority for them anyway.

Really?
Thought the guys would have been though as it is personal issue PPE (then known as NBCD but now known as CBRNDC) AS Were the CBRN suits (MOP suits to any Americans here).
Being pretty much the front line to the nuclear deterent at the time Id be surprised if they werent issued with anything.
