Closed October 1968.

The side has been cut away with a door and window added, now used as a watchpoint for a nature reserve. An orlit A stands nearby, now also changed with a wooden top and door added.

So am I reading this right? This was totally underground at some point but it's now partially dug out?

Pretty much, yes.
The post was built into the side of a hill, and the lower slope has now been removed to create a birdwatching viewpoint.

Yes they have dug out the soil from the top and one side of the post as it was situated on top of a hill then they have put in the door and window, very strange to see :neutral:
