Decided to explore another local ROC post today so nipped up to Brent Pelham.
Bit of history, the post was opened in November 1961 and was closed in September 1991.
There is an Orlit B standing adjacent to the post, which is in fairly good condition, though looking back on earlier reports on various sites it can be seen to be slowly decaying. Sadly the post has been vandalised and someone has attempted to burn the contents.:icon_evil
I had a good look at the Orlit first so pics of that first.
Anyway on with the pictures :-

The post compound had seen better days
To say that it is a bit over grown is an understatement!
The vents have been kicked in
The good news was the hatch could be opened, the bad news however was that the latching mechanism was gone. I managed to balance it in place for the few seconds that it took to take the photograph but searched around for a piece of wood to wedge it open before I proceeded further.
Didn't look very inviting
The sump pump was still there but appeared to be seized
Didn't smell too good down there but at least I remembered to bring a torch so could see that I wasn't stepping in anything too nasty!
That's all folks, sadly not very nice inside.
