Hi I was passing the site of the former Farnsfield Roc post in Nottinghamshire. When i noticed some masonry in a hedge bottom which was painted roc green. On closer inspection it had a brass plaque secured to the top commemorating the Farnsfield post. This can be seen (read) in one of my pictures.

Is this unique or are there any other ROC post Memorials out there?

That’s a good find, I love those little places, there like the little buildings that the MOD forgot about and I have no doubt that they all deserve a “plaque”

Thanks for the pic of the Farnsfield ROC memorial plaque. Never seen that before, and i go to Farnsfield regularly lol. Theres also a new housing estate, well, a cul-de-sac on the main road, to a man who crashed in a plane in a field near to it. its also named after the guy. hang on, ill try and find the name of it.

found the cul-de-sac. its Parfitt Drive, its on the left hand side as you drive through Farnsfield towards Edingley. The plaque is on the wall directly under the cross on the flashearth link.

Will have to keep my eyes open now for the ROC plaque as well. (i must drive around with my eyes closed lol).

Cheers

:) Sal
