Default Beaconsfield ROC Post - Buckinghamshire - April 2016

    Hi all,
This is my first post and derelict discovery and to be honest I didn't expect success on my first attempt as I had read that this ROC post had been locked for many years...

The compound is not as secure as it once was (based on some other photos I've seen) and some minor repairs have been made to the hatch. At first glance the hatch appears to be screwed and welded shut but there were no padlocks and it opened very easily for us.

Internally, much has been removed and it looks like the place has been in use fairly recently with some rubbish left in there by previous visitors - tobacco, lighter, Starbucks cup, etc

The desk, tool board, BT junction boxes, fuse box, cupboard, siren box, bottles of water all remain and other than a bit of water the place looked to be in decent shape.

I have seen a lot of posts on roc sites and many seem to be in this kind of condition - i have only explored one of these posts and it was a cracker so i consider myself a very lucky bunny to have seen one in such good condition.
Would recommend anyone to visit one of these as its a tremendous feeling being in one and exploring it.
Great first post - nice one sunshine :-)

That really is rather a good one. I'm amazed the bottle of water are still there, and sealed like that. I wonder how old they are?

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
