I'm getting into this now, just found my local ROC post. The hinge is broken on the main hatch and it had been left partially open.

The interior is still dry surprisingly and the pump still moved although I didnt see or here any water coming out.

There are not a great deal of features but heres a few pics anyway.

The whole set are here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/13911860@N04/sets/72157603877628245/

Nick.

Note - I closed hatch as best I could before leaving as seen in outside pic.

like this, looks like most of the stuff is still in there. looks great.

Wish i had the nerve to get over the first hurdle to chuck my legs over and climb down the ladder. tried at the stoke meet, but chickened out at the last minute. Now just 1 ROC post is on my list to do.

Sorry for going off topic :(

Cheers,

:) Sal

I was a bit nervous cos I was on my own, it occurred to me that if I fell and injured myself I could be stuck down there with no phone signal for quite some time lol.

But it was quite good really, just wish i'd remembered a better light, only had small multi LED torch which has quite a concentrated light.

It means I can see more from the pics than I did while I was down there but i'm sure to go back again.

I'm hoping to get to meet some others sometime for some more decent explores as ive well and truly got the bug now

Thanks for replying.

Looks pritty cool, Love the old cleaning products, shame no one uses them any more:lol: I think it might take more than a few squirts of anti- bacterial to get that place hygenic again!

Compared to pics of some ive seen this one was quite clean and dry even tho the hatch was broke, a bucket had caught most of the water. Nice to see theres a couple of loo rolls there for anyone that gets caught short :)

Really nice pics Redd. I'm like Smiley, can't face getting down the ladder, so it's good to see the interior of these places. It's in quite good condition too. :)

It's nowt to be scared of really. Unless you dont like climbing ladders in general.

Blimey! What fantastic pictures.

I've been to a couple of 'secret' Nuclear Bunkers where I can remember hearing about such places that would have been used to report back to central command what was going on in the event of a Nuclear Attack during the Cold War ere.

:)
