It had been raining for about an hour before we got to the post. We found the track that leads to the post and parked up. At least it had stopped raining. We walked down the track but couldn't see the post, we had the post marked on my OS map with a 6 figure grid ref from subbrit but that gives you 100 square meters to look in. the Track was bounded by chest high bracken obscuring our view. Buster did somthing he should never have done, volunteered to go on a recce. Off he waded through the bracken and on to the high ground. When he got to the top he could see the post and signalled me and Pegasus2 to follow him up. it had now started to rain again Buster was already soaked to the skin from wading through the bracken.
The hatch was promptly opened and we descended in to the post.
The post does have some chav dammage to it but it still has its battery down there
The door was locked but has been smashed open at some point
The coke cans down there were the old type with the removable ringpull.
The rain was still falling when it came time to leave. It was decided to go back a more direct route to the track. However when we got to within 2 meters of the track our path was blocked by a stream you couldn't see because of the bracken.
We were all now soaked to the skin and had to go back up the hill and back the way we came.
My jeans and Busters combats were twice the weight because of the water thay had soaked up. We still had the drive back to York to do. Trousers were removed and I had to drive back in just my boxers. Good job we didn't get stopped by the law!!
