Hi I was bored the other day so I decided to pay Sacriston ROC post a visit. I've driven past it hundreds of times but never taken a look inside until now. On with the photo's...

The Gate - No climbing needed for this one.

The vent covers had been ripped off

The hatch cover was wide open when I arrived but was closed the night before when I drove past.

The site is in a lot better condition than I had expected it to be as most of the remaining ROC posts in County Durham have been burnt out. There were a lot of candles about the site so I am assuming the local chavs are having parties or tramps are sleeping down there. I think that being away from any large housing estates has helped to stop the vandalism to a degree. Sorry about the photo quality I use a point and shoot camera as those huge multi lense things that most people use are far too technical for me.

Thanks for looking... Jon

The photos look fine but you can choose a larger size when you're uploading to Photobucket :)

I knew I was going wrong somewhere when the photo's turned out so small. Just started using photobucket because I was having problems posting from flickr and picasa. Thanks for the advice mate, god knows I need it. But like British Rail - I'll get there in the end. Cheers Jon

Nice one Johnboy !!
BUT (as a point of interest) British Rail never got there because in the end those greedy tory bastards flogged it to shit bus companies !!:(

I, Beaching has a lot to answer for. All the transport links are F****d now, wait for 1 bus and none turn up.

roc post

not a bad post that,if i find them totaly open i re lock them on the t bar if they will, there's that many getting burned and robbed at mo its unreal.visited goathland post today, and it has been well robbed last few months... Putting report up in morning..

This post can be locked or opened with a screwdriver as the lock is bust. Daddybear was taking to his dad last night and he was saying that he knows someone who used to work in this post.

I often sit in the little car park sort of thing nearby (it's a nice view, lol) but only ever had a quick look down it once and didn't think much of it.
Like what's been said above, it needs to be locked with a T bar.
