hi, spotted this while I was visiting friends,
Its locally known as The Fruit Sheds, in Letchmore Heath, Herts. Started trading in the early 1930's and closed up in the 1980's. There was fine chicken wire all over the floor, i pressume to stop vermin getting in, and most of the windows had shutters to block off the sunlight. I think past owners removed most of the trees, to make better use of the land.
If anyone knows and can contribute any history please do so.....

I'm starting to formulate a new natural law:

"The more bizarre the location, the greater the likelihood of finding an upright piano."

Love the shots of the ivy creeping like hungry fingers through every ever widening hole, gradually it will take a hold of everything and finally all will become nature again.
Pianos hold a special fascination for me,having spent many years as a youngster playing and loving the instrument,it is always great to see them, even if soon to become the food for the fruits of nature.
These small seemingly incosequential buildings, that are so much part of our history, are so sadly rarely deemed of importance enough to save.Although I do feel a wind of change is in the air, toward a greater preservation of working class history, which does, after all form a far greater proportion of history than does that of the aristocracy.

Many thanks for all your comments. The piano was a great find. Don't think my rendition of chopsticks did it any justice though.
I keep looking for more info on this and will post when I find some.
