that was the best day ive had for a long time. this tho was the saddest place ive ever been to. seeing were that man lived , no roof no water no windows no warm soft bed to sleep in at over 80 years old, but every sunday he still went to church, he did his shopping and lived as a very decent person.

god bless him, mr jimmy blanche.

I'm originally from Long Stratton and remember seeing Jimmy cycling to the shops on his ancient push bike to aquire his beloved vintage car and motorbike mags!!!

I actually visited his ramshackle house before he died and was still living in the building, thinking it was long vacated and left to rot!! Only by chance seeing a lit candle in the window before my explore did I realize somebody still lived there!!

Had to add these two of mine from the day; 1950’s radiogram in the corner of the front room, I think it's a Decca?
