This small building sits in a field to the north of the village of Monkton Farleigh. It covers a spring that used to provide water to the village and was originally built by the Cluniac Monks of the Priory that existed there.Originally built in the 13 century the building was rebuilt in 1784.The spring still runs and the water is piped away I know not where possibly feeding cattle troughs.
