    Default Pearce's Cottages - September 2016

Happened to pass this place again.

I figured it was worth giving these cottages a report. These cottages were built in 1838 by the Pearces, for three poor aged couples. It was very much like that until they became derelict only a few years ago. As a result the cottages, are all sealed up tight but the outside sheds in the back are all open, with a few having a few bits inside. The cottages are all empty inside.

It would be worth it to renovate those houses just for the history of them. I'm no slater or tiler by trade but it looks to me that the roofing slates are original.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
