Old farm house in the middle of what I thought was nowhere back off the road almost hidden by trees. From what I could tell it was a home for an old couple. Probably either without children or children all grown up and gone. Looks like the man died first then the lady of the house lost her mobility and moved downstairs into the Lounge. No central heating, no water, taps, or copper piping. No discernible drive or access for vehicles or deliveries. Outside there was a ramshackle toilet, barn and stables. The phone directories were 2000 so maybe 17 years empty? Anyway if there is no one left to care for you this is probably how it will look when you go.
The last stand.

That's really nice.the #decay is lovely.and that shot with the bed and light shining through is amazing

Took me a while to notice I went here not long ago!
Some lovely pics, I didn't bother posting cos mine were pretty poor.
Went there with my lad but did most the house on my own, the cellar was proper scary!
Oh looks like they did have a bath though ... of sorts!

Very common for the surviving partner to move into a single downstairs room to live out their remaining years. Nothing to do with loss of mobility in the many sad cases I have witnessed over the years and which were all located in out of the way places - just the sound logic of people who always had a hard life. It is far easier and cheaper to heat and light one room to live in than 2 or 3, certainly in a large, draughty and damp house.

As this property has shown no indication of having any sort of plumbing fitted from the time it was first on the Urbex scene, I suspect the bath and basin have nothing to do with the house. Clearly well used items that have been removed from a property, they are just the rubbish dumped by some lowlife who cannot be bothered to go to the local tip and pay the commercial fee.

If this place has appeared before on this forum what was it called? I would like to see it in a less trashed condition.
& by loss of mobility I meant arthritis & inability to negotiate stairs without pain etc because I was involved with a lovely old gentleman who went the same way before moving into the same home as his deceased wife. He gave me his Scooby do which has now (like him) also passed.

According to a mate, who looked at this place in Sept 2002, there was no sign of the photographed bath and basin anywhere around the place then. House and contents much tidier and no damp damage really obvious. Unfortunately like me; he spent his working life shackled to a camera and box of evidence kit, so now just looks around these places and only photographs the extraordinary or unusual - thus no photographic reminders of this place. I suppose they could have been put there by a jobbing builder who intended to make a bathroom; however, the complete lack of plumbing somewhat trashes this theory!

Did he investigate the Motte & Baily castle out in the wood behind this place?
