I loved stepping in here for the first time, seeing that portrait on the side as you at the time "walked" in, was brilliant then seeing a piano as I moved some wood from the doorway, ahh memories.
You have made this look alot better, but still its a beauty anyway!

I have a number of similar images from that era and they all show the same thing - in a male dominated world, there is this striking image of a hard working wife/mother who is holding the family/household together. Sad her image will eventually fade away, but at least she has a few moments of 'fame' on here and she is nowhere scary or disturbing to me!

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
