Nothing but trees as far as the eye can reach. In the middle of nowhere we discovered an abandoned hunter’s house. On a cold spring morning we set off to find out what’s inside this old building hidden deep in the woods. We found a fully furnished home that was once owned by a God-fearing man. And all his personal remains were still there. Join us on a travel back in time!

This abandoned house of a hunter is located somewhere in Germany. It’s hidden very well and without insider’s knowledge it’s probably impossible to find the place. Apparently the building has been abandoned already several years ago.

Just a brief glance at the rooms reveals that most of the valuable things have already been stolen. But there are still plenty of interesting items left to discover. The former resident seemed to have a predilection for hunting. Until a short time ago there were even huge sets of antlers all over the walls. Unfortunately there wasn't much left of them. Only these small antlers haven't been stolen yet.

Right next to the entry area there’s the two-part kitchen. Hidden in a booth we found more cupboards and devices. Here we also discovered a plate with leftovers. Was this the last supper of the former owner?

We don’t know much about the former owner. We only can guess why the home was abandoned. Apparently the man was a lawyer. In the basement of the building we found old signs which indicated this. And we know that he was a pious man because there were religious signs on all of the walls.

After we had explored the lower levels we were heading upstairs. Here we hoped to find more answers which would tell us who the owner was and what happened to him.

But instead new questions were raised. Because all this stuff belonged to another man! It almost seemed like various persons were living on the different floors. An old ID was still there. According to the document this other person was a baron! Born 80 years ago and Architect by profession. Letters from the Chamber of Architects are still lying on the table. And there was even a hunting license. So all the antlers in the house belonged to him apparently.

From the study room we were heading to the master bedroom. It was alarmingly empty in here... Two guest rooms were also part of the house. In most parts of the building it was pitch black because nearly all of the windows have been blocked up.

The story of the house remains a mystery to us. At first glance there's no connection between those two men whose remains we discovered. The first one was a God-fearing lawyer. The other one was a baron and a hunter. Did they both or at least one of them live here? Secluded in the middle of a large forest? Or was this just their holiday home for relaxed days in nature?

We will probably never find out the true story of this secret place hidden somewhere deep in the woods...

You still want to see more of this place??? Well, okay! Just watch our mini documentary on YouTube about this building:

Maybe they were a couple? These things do happen!

You could be right, the world was much more intolerant and judgemental then,
Shame the scavengers found it, still a fascinating mooch though, I liked it, Thanks
