I've been a little slack on vehicle graveyards lately which are one of my favourite subjects, so to get out and do two in one day was a great thing for me.
This was the first, and it's an absolute belter. One hoarder's collection of a mixture of heavy haulage/recovery Scammells and AECs (plus a few odd ones) and a whole load of Land Rovers all rusting away in a pair of fields. There was also the bonus of an abandoned farmhouse on the land which sadly was nowhere near as interesting as the rest of the site, but I ascertained from inside that the year of abandonment was around 2005.
After the visit I was made aware by a friend that the same guy who hoarded the vehicles at this location has another field full of them not too far from this one, so that will hopefully feature in my wanderings in the near future!
The little flatbed below is an FMW, built for use by the military usually in dockyards and is one of only five examples left in the country...
My favourite vehicle however was this Land Rover 101 Forward Control Ambulance, which I'm sure has an interesting history.
And finally a few photos from the house, although filled with stuff it had suffered a lot more than the vehicles and was in a fair mess.
Thanks for looking
