If I may suggest a spare battery for the DSLR, that way you can never be disappointed.
I've recently had to invest in a new DSLR (mine was stolen) A 2nd battery is a good addition in the kit, and worth the 40 extra
I do have a spare but forgot to take it out of the car

I tend to use it for video as well, but your right a P&S takes just as good photos.

Interesting find! I think I would have had a heart attack hearing the farmer banging on the door!

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
