we visited Grove Rake Mine, Wolfcleugh Cottages and Burnhill Bunkers on the same day but i've put these two on a seperate thread as there was too much on the Grove Rake one. When we were in the cottages, we found something awful in one of the cupboards - Turn away if you're an animal lover - some rotten git had locked a sheep in the cupboard and left it there to die, lord knows who it was but they're obviously sick.

Anyways, apart from that it was a great day's photographing

Here's a link to the photos on Photobucket as the Galleries function no longer exists on this site

Took the one of the brick for you Bigloada, we know how much you like your bricks! Plus we thought it had an amusing logo on it.

Only got a couple from Burnhill

I really like that cottage. :) Pity about the harsh unforgiving weather though! The valley seems a lot greener that when we last visited.
Could you hear the big dogs barking in the woods at Burnhill? That freaked me out!

The sheep that got trapped and melted?

Sorry Sausage, dont follow, 'sheep that got trapped and melted'? As far as I know, the poor soul just got locked in there and died, it must have only been a couple of weeks gone and still in its fully non melted form.

Nice one folks! I love that cottage. I like how the floor in the bedroom with the bed is newer than the rets of the place. Thanks for the brick photo. we must have missed that when me an Sausage went!

I had noticed a few sheep which had strayed into the collapsed roof part at one end of the cottage and had been unable to free themselves from the slippery locked together rafters and beams. Poor souls, I still think of it yet.

Strictly speaking, the brick is from a little house just near the cottages, I just thought i'd post it here as a present for big loada coz it was from the same trip.

I knew it! Me and Oddity were talking about that the other day, he had put two and two together. I must text him with the new immediately!
