Kinaird saw mill, Scotland, Aug '08

Went for a drive with Smellycat along the back roads of Arbirlot/Kinnaird/Forfar and came across this.

That's a fabulous find, SP. Love the various saws and bits of machinery. Great little building too. Nice one.

What a great little place. Love seeing the saw itself, and the belt on another machine. Loads of stuff still left inside there, all hidden away and being taken over by nature. Excellent pics, and an excellent find. Love this.

What a waste of machinery though!!
There seems to be two saw benches, a planer/smoother and a lathe (hooge one at that) simply left to the elements. I also see they have taken the power source - an engine - I guess it was worth more than the rest of the machinery.
Love the old mill building too.

You might be interested in having a look at this - I found a little history on the sawmill after I visited it.

And of course this mill is in Arbirlot, not Kinnaird as I posted.

Monikie Granaries ... I didn't manage to get in there before they started building the cardboard people boxes. You have to remember that I've been exploring for years.

yeah I remember the Granary, it stood empty for ages. I used to go past it loads in my younger/pre urbex days.
My new mission is to find somewhere in the area that Wolfism hasn't been.:skeptical:
