A model farm recently became redundant from the local university who had run crop trials on the land since the war.

As I began to explore I had just wandered through the arch in one of the pictures when a quad bike arrived surrounded by about five dogs. I had no choice but to wander out openly, as he parked about 10 feet from where I was standing. The guy turned out to be a wealth of info about the place.

It’s now on the market for over a million including two houses, but was bought by the college after the war for around £10K with over 400 acres. There was a small mansion on the site which they demolished and replaced with a typical modern shed. This explains the superb quality of the buildings. The ranges just keep on going. Some are still used for farming on a smaller scale, but all the main buildings have been cleared out and left.

The place is full of interesting bits, the best of which being the MG which is almost immaculate, and the Morris minor which clearly isn’t. Lots of weird outdated lab stuff like meters for soil porosity etc.

The office with the card ref was fascinating. If you look at the card closely, it dates from 1907, and tracks the bloodlines of their stock at the time. There are Thousands of these.

Oh and another real gem, at the back of the long range is the remains of an extensive hydro scheme(the brown pipes) and the space where the wheel would have been.

Interesting place, love the cars and the milk bottles. Is this anywhere near Cardigan/St.Dogmaels which is where the milk bottles were from? Would it have been owned by Lampeter university? Nice one. :)

Fabulous site and photos, lurch. Old farm buildings are great. Love the old sewing machine (wonder what that was doing there! ) and especially love the tractor!

Its on the coast road north of Aberarth, can't miss it cos of the big for sale sign on the side of the road. It used to be part of Aberystwyth University, or Iger I believe. A snip at 1.2 million.

I love this. It reminds me of Broomfield College which is attached to Derby Uni up my way. Loads of stuff still there from the uni days. Looks great. Love how it's all in stone. I'd love to buy it and do it all up.

Excellent pics mate, really do like this.
