solo explore of this location.
was bored so i thought i would get out of the house.

Sundon Chalk Quarries are part of a large disused complex of chalk pits just to the west of Upper Sundon in Bedfordshire.

when i got there whether was really bad andthen in about 10 mins turned really good out with the cam and take some decent pictures.

and then i was leaving i notice a random building on the left of the roadside so i thoguht i would have a look.

That's interesting...the entrance to the second tunnel looks as though it's got a blast wall around it. Do you know if these were used during WW2 at all?
 
they were indeed. Closed in the 1950s i think but cookie will have to check the 28DL forums about that cos i cant get access.

I always though that it could be an air raid shelter

it is about a foot under the soil and even the ceiling is made from 6 or 7 inch concrete.

Plus one of the rooms contains an air filtration system and another of the rooms contains drainage pipes.

Im not sure how important the site would have been to the war effort but thats the luftwaffe for ya LOL :)
