Citadel Battery situated on the Western Heights in Dover.

Hi Mate

There are some great pictures there, looks like you had a great dig around.
Did you go under the Gun pits and have a look at the under ground magazines and the shell hoists.

Me and Fluffy did them way back in June I think have a look on the main Mill forum.
One other thing It's not all WW2 the actual battery IE gun pits and magazines were built in the late 1800's
1898 or there abouts.

Great stuff as usual Acen. Love the Dover quad pillbox in the last photo's and it's great to see the mount is still in place in the type 23 pillbox. Cheers

Hello mate,

Thanks for your comments and extra details. I tryed to dig around as much as possible but kicked myself

when got home and checked else were to see the gun pits and magazines but i will check your report out also. I will hopefully make a trip back at some point and go over the site again.

At last I know what a Dover Quad looks like underneath its lid. I've only seen them from above so a rare treat for me.
