He we are again! A small Collection of Pillboxes and a weird round jobbie, that looked a little like a Gun emplacement!! Maybe someone can help me out on the ident as I dont have a clue what type they are!!, These occupy a Commanding Position on a Clifftop just North of Lowestoft in Suffolk,.. Gunton Common looking towards Yarmouth Looking south towards Lowestoft

Thanks a lot Labb, the S200 EXR is working out for me, this was the first time, with Pillboxes and a Tripod!! It was a bit of a job getting the Tripod into the Pillboxes though!!!:)

Ooooooh i've been looking at these on google earth, but never got the chance to get down to these. Excellent pics BS. :)

Keep saying the next time I get down to Gunton Hall to see a couple of friends I'll nip across to see these. Hopefully this year. :)

:) Sal

Gunton Hall! Blimey now theres a blast from the past!!, the Pillboxs are easy enough to get to Sal, as you know. Theres a couple in the woods as well.:)

Nice find BS, it looks like an anti tank gun emplacement, there's something similar near Axminster on the Taunton stop line. FoxyLlady can probably confirm that. But that's definitely a holdfast for something large in the middle. got a grid ref?

Ooh, I've only just noticed this one. It does look similar. There are two 6pdr anti tank gun emplacements in the Axe Valley. The one at Axminster, and another at Boshill Cross near the Axe Bridge. The last time I visited the latter, there were a load of schoolkids there learning about WW2 defences, which can't be bad.
Some really nice finds there, Shuck. :)

Thats really nice seeing kids learning about our History, I like that a alot.:) Thanks for the Comments Foxy.
