Explored with Stuck 247

Myself and Stuck went out over the weekend for a WWII themed explore around the Norfolk/Suffolk border area. My main priority was to get to this Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery at Lound.
This Battery and nearby buildings are in relativley in good condition, they are a little overgrown and have the usual farm storage inside them.

These defences were located here to mainly protect the Amphibious-tank training site at close-by Fritton Lake. From what i was able to discover the guns here and associated defences, were a bit mish-mash of varying calibres. Commandeered ex-naval guns they included anything from 9.2" howitzers to 25 pounders
and a gun laying radar platform.

Thanks for looking.

Hope you had your bramble and stinger proof overalls and your machete to hand Winch.

Nice report with some interesting pics. What was going on with the three holes in the 3rd photo?

nice one winch it in, i was really into my HAA sites at one point and find them a great back up if anything else fails

this also come up when i did a report, the holes or pipes, but i thought they where for ammo to be past through but it turns out these are for cable or communication cables to run through from the gun sites to the main command bunker

Nice report WII - I like those original switches and light fitting. Rather partial to those little glass square windows too :)

Yes on the overalls and unfortunately no with the machete Munchh as i borrowed a friends car, and i wouldn't like to explain why I had it with me if i had been collered!

I was thinking along them lines too, I looked through your pictures and saw that drain pipe in a row of three then followed by four. the 3x which are similar to my picture which were in the same style hut.
I found these 4x 1" thick cables inside the main opps. room coming through the wall, possible 1 to each gun pit?

Agreed on the machete mate, would be better to take a strimmer for access. I heard a rumour that Blackshuck may have used a lawnmower for access to a rail tunnel once but I can't imagine who would have started such a rumour
