A bit boring really but it fills a small gap in the knowledge and the second one is not on the database so it's another update for the good captain

Also in the wood at

are a series of slit trenches still visible dug by a unit, I believe of the Somerset Light Infantry, camped there whilst on ammo dump protection duty. The wood is passed by a public footpath ,if it hadn't been for it raining and me being on my way to work would have got a photo record.Still there's always tomorrow.

I believe that these are technically road blocks rather than plain old anti-tank blocks, and would have formed the controlled road access to Monkton Farliegh CAD.

Reckon you are right Krela. When I lived there I always assumed they were part of an access control system.
Godzy the first one is by the entrance to the Farleigh rise housing estate and the second is about 250- 300 yards up from the pub.

Great pics S,glad to see you gettin out n about..I still aint seen Farleigh sidings yet,if ya fancy a good walk!!

Cheers S most of what I do is limited to stuff I can reach by car.Tried this afternoon to get to a box and tank rail on the Kennet and Avon but like Arnheim it was a bridge to far and my poor feet gave up in protest before I got there.
