This one has definitely been cleaned up a bit by someone since the 2007 GE overheads :) Cleanest control bunker I've seen yet.Care needed if you ever visit though as the site is full of beehives.

I cannot help wondering what thought process was used to position these batteries.
In the middle of nowhere, No canals, railways or roads in sight. Just fields.

Very careful thought processes which are obvious if you look at maps and layouts and take into account things that no longer exist now that did in 1940. Also what you generally don't see now are the support camps that surrounded them which would have extended towards whatever road it was built near.
