Hi all, Just found some pics of tank traps and pillboxes i took at Kimmeridge bay in Dorset, but i don't know what type they are, went fossil hunting with my kids and found these.

The first is on the beach.

A good day out, sorry the pics are not that good.

Wow, those are unusual pillboxes. Never seen any like that before. Nice one, sneaker.
I think the anti-tank cubes with pointy tops are called Dragon's Teeth, but don't quote me on that as I could be getting mixed up with something else! :D

Cheers for that. :)

Yeah your right foxy, they are dragons teeth. I think the pillboxes are type 25's, quite a rare design.

I do like those pillboxes, and yep, had a look like Foxy on the pillbox website. Like the one hidden in the trees, are there anymore of them around the area? Will have to keep my eyes out again, looking out for pillboxes on my travels.

Hope you find more, we love pillboxes on here, in all shapes and sizes lol.

Cheers,

:) Sal

Interesting links there, Sneaker. Enjoyed the info about the Purbeck stone quarries. Did you get to see Tyneham village? It was evacuated in the 1940's for the MOD and remains derelict to this day and is open to visitors when the firing range isn't in use. There's a report with pics in the archived section.

Cheers :)
