I needed to get out Boxing Day for some fresh air and burn off some Christmas food.so what better way than to walk along the ash in the wind to see this costal battery.built to protect the port of kings Lynn.it consisted of two gun batteries,a pillbox and observation tower.the battery did not last long as it proved ineffective and the six inch guns were moved to Northumberland..

This is close to where I live. Sadly a pic has been posted on Facebook showing that the roof of the Tower has collapsed forwards. You can see it was going in one of the pics. I used to play down there as a child and the brickwork at the top was crumbling then. That was about 25 years ago.
