Looks like it's not been kept as well sealed recently - presumably because there are no horses in the field.
Despite it not being particularly close to the town it suffered badly from littering due to kids using it as a drinking den...which is when the owners put the railway sleepers across the entrance.
For a few years there was a pile of wartime cable just up the lane. It had come from one of the fields when it was being re-seeded. It was removed about five years ago.
