Looks like it's not been kept as well sealed recently - presumably because there are no horses in the field.
Despite it not being particularly close to the town it suffered badly from littering due to kids using it as a drinking den...which is when the owners put the railway sleepers across the entrance.
For a few years there was a pile of wartime cable just up the lane. It had come from one of the fields when it was being re-seeded. It was removed about five years ago.

That's a nice report. Amazing how much decoys there were just to fool the Germans.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
