looks good, I like the bluey bricks in pic 3, 4, 5 Not seen that inside a building before:)

I'm guessing it has them as blue bricks are stronger and its the basement so its near the foundations

Nice report & set of pics :) Looks like an interesting place.
Liking the roof lantern and columns. That loo looks like it could do with a real clean too! Also like the old football pitch -real evocative. Thanks for sharing. Good effort for a first report in me own opinion :)

Yeh, they're called staffordshire blue brick and they're denser, stronger and resist dampness better than standard bricks. :)

It's actually just south of Aston on Trent, south east of Derby. It looks to have gone downhill substantially since i went a year and a half ago, and there was no visible access at that point either. The stores block looks interesting inside, did you access the leisure centre and hall? The hospital used to include the mansion further towards the village, now converted to flats, and the new build indicates where otehr hospital buildings once stood.

Yeah the chavs have unfortunatly trashed the place. When you say the leisure centre is that the infamous 5 million quid one that shut down a year later? If so I'm afraid it was all boarded up and we really wanted to see it :(

Some very interesting pics there, FB. Nice to see a decent tour of a site. Like the pics of the glass roof and the lift, and those murals are cute, especially the moons and stars and the little ship.

Cheers :)
