Nidd Valley Sawmill - July 21

Cant find an awful lot about this place other than it closed sometime in 2017 & is now pretty trashed.
There is still a water race running under the building & evidence that a wheel used to be in place driving machinery but most of this is long gone.



Just noticed this place driving by & happened to be staying a few miles from it on holiday with the girlfriend this year so when in Rome.




Looking in the small rear shed first.



Half a bearing case in a recess is the only tell-tale signs of former use.



The main front buildings had interesting channels in floor & machine mounts visible but not much else.


















Moving through into the main old mill a few more things have been left behind

Despite being quite wrecked, I like the look of that. Glad I'm not the only one fascinated by biscuit tins full of old bolts and door handles!

Nice find, shame there were no other part of the old water driven system around to see.
