This place evaded me the last time I visited due to my fellow explorer being obsessed with exterior shots and getting escorted off site. as it happened the place was alive with high viz jackets.

Firstly a bit of history and an exterior shot:D

St Mary's Stannington, Northumberland, built 1910-14 as the pauper asylum for Gateshead.

Seen quite a few pics that i haven't seen before. I really like that chapel, with the font, and those floor tiles are gorgeous. sad about the state of the organ tho.

Like the pics of the main hall, that looks great, and love all the corridor shots.

Excellent Pics silverstealth, the chapel is great I hope that floor isnt thrown away. The main hall is in great condition:) so rare these days
