This post is reported as being demolished on Subbrit.

A chance conversation with my contacts at STW lead us to believe that this might not be the case, and a trip to Erdington Resevoir was arranged with them.. Bobblehead and myself were not disappointed, nobody had been down since 1992.

The post is located within a secure compound that is within the compound of the resevoir, so is very secure.

Locked on the T Bar and new padlocks fitted when we left.

Date of visit: 04/04/08

The post instrument table, most likely dating from WWII and indicating that there was probably an orlit somewhere nearby at one time, this had the locations of local features marked on it, so is totally unique to this post.

Sorry to post so many photos of an ROC post, but I doubt this one will be visited again for a very long time!!

Too many pics? I think not! Lots of original features with good posters too so well worth the pics! Well done for checking it out!

A truly great find! Probably one of the best preserved posts around, and likely to stay that way given it's secure location.

Makes you wonder how many more of the 'demolished' ones are actually hidden gems waiting to be found :) If you browse SubBrit only for DEMOLISHED posts, there are rather a lot which are far from 'confirmed' as dead.

Yeah, Griddy posted the details to Subbrit but I don't think they've updated the site yet

Great report! It is a must see!

Do all ROC posts have dodgy electrical wiring?

The one near me does aswell!

Wow impressive find! Some great pics there. Well done for finding it and managing to get the opportunity to visit it.

Did you get any pics of inside the visitors book? I'm always intrigued by things like that lol
