This station was at the end of a short branch on the Piccadilly Line London Underground from Holborn Latterly it only ran in the morning and evening peaks. It closed on 30th Sepember 1994. A group of us travelled on the line in the last week. Not derelict then, it is now. I took these photos

That’s impressive, surly it was a permission visit? I used to take the metropolitan line from Uxbridge to Euston Square and remember passing several disused stations on that line. I always wanted to get in and explore those.

Well it was still an open station in its last week of operation so really it doesn’t qualify for this site!

Oh it certainly does qualify, that's just brilliant, real history there.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi guys, here are some recent pictures of the station. I took them when I visited in 2019 so it was derelict then :)

Around this time I worked for Base London Shoes; and we had a party down there ...... around 200 guests? Itwas properly organised and booked via London Transport ; a great night with a disco and the like. I suppose there must be photos somewhere as the 'media' where there.

Aldwych is closed, not derelict. It is open for expensive, £60 tours and can be hired. It is often seen on period dramas, mostly wartime. It has also been used in a Bond film, the one where Q shows? Bond an invisible car. Thanks for the photos, both of you. I did not photograph the interior when I visited it in the early 90's. It used to be open on London Open House weekends as a gallery, but not for a few years.
