Bassaleg Mortuary

As prev reports I cant find a lot about this place, its just a small local mortuary.
Im pleased that we got in here when we did before it was made public & the goons blatantly smashed the place open.
Was a bit of a squeeze but great to tick this off.

Anyway we went here one sunny afternoon & I will never forget the look on the guys face as he innocently walked by to see me climbing out a morgue window :rofl

Nice explore and some great photos there.

I wonder why those ashes where left there, seems strange to not pass them on to family or scatter them in a memorial garden if unclaimed.

yeah Im guessing it was just sloppy clearing & they didn't see them as they were in a body bag tucked at back of fridge.
Crazy though that no one cared enough to notice

Do ashes still count as human remains?

Might be worth tipping off the local authorities about them, they might be interested to get this person re-united with their family.

Comfy?

Do you know if the ashes are still there?? I only live about half a mile from there and could alwasy go and tell them in the ambulance station next door??

john..

The wooden blocks to go under the back of the neck and support the head had me thinking of the hard pillows used by the ancient Egyptians, both by the living and for the deceased when embalmed. Found this online:

"Stone pillows for living people also existed. For humans, the function of the stone pillow was to prevent insects from crawling into mouths, noses, and ears. And they were used only by the wealthy citizens.

However, a single pillow made from woven plant fibres encased in a wax coating dated to around 2000 BC was found in April 2006. Probably, some of the wealthier Egyptians might have slept more comfortably."

Nice pics. I wonder what this place looks like outside. Is it standing alone or part of a larger structure?
