1968 closure, so inevitably in very poor condition. Probably barely worth posting a report, but may as well do so, if nothing else to provide a bit more up to date info than the Subbrit report and to save someone else a visit!
Orlit B in fair condition beside the post. The post is called Buckden, but actually within neighbouring Brampton, so I've driven past countless times without realising it was there.
The post is recorded on Subbrit as being welded shut, but when I visited, the hatch was unlocked and open and looked unlikely to close again. The site is also far more overgrown than in the Subbrit photos making access to the hatch a bit of an awkward squeeze between the undergrowth.
Interior is in a very poor state, with little remaining, other than an unusual 3 bunk bed.
The pump is still in place, but with a broken off handle and a severe case of rust.
