Not the most exciting explore probably, but don't think its been covered so thought I would share.
These pics are from a year or so back in miserable conditions so apologies in advance.
This was all part of the massive Northants Ironstone effort, the high structure is all that remains of the crusher, trucks would of been tipped at the high level & trucks below accepted to crushed rock & took them through tunnels to Irthlingborough.
The top is fenced now & the bottom is pretty overgrown, strangely the near vertical cracked concrete walls appeared many years ago in a 100 places in east Anglia to rock climb book I had lol
I believe fig 10 & 11 here show this actual crusher & this is a very interesting document.
Before you all get too excited the tunnels are long blocked however it is rumoured they are still there & just the ends are blocked ;)

Bloody hell! I Grew up in finedon and used to mess around down here as a kid. The nickname for this place was "The Pits"
I still remember climbing up the side wall to reach the top usint the crack in the concrete, Also half way up there is a flat area where we used to hang around when it rained

Yea it was, although looking back it was bloody dangerous, once youre past the fence its nothing but a shear drop!

Nice one, am I right in saying it never used to be fenced? very dodgey for a "public" area!
Where are u now?

Yes you are right, When i was in junior school there was no fence, then one school holiday me and a few mates went up there and the fence was up, to be fair it was a good deterrent but we soon found a way round which ironically was probably more dangerous than not having the fence in the first place!
