Hello all,

I've already posted a couple of location reports and I'm still working on some, but I just realised I haven't posted an introduction.

So, I go by the name SpookyJim (if you're a Twenty One Pilots fan, you'll know where that's from) and I'm actually surprisingly young. I'm genuinely 14, turning 15 in October. I'm from the South East of England (Surrey to be precise) and I've been interested in this sort of thing for ages, just never got round to it before. Now, I do some exploring in my free time with my friends, but mostly with my Aunt. My most recent visits were the Silverlands Manor and the Chertsey Mortuary. I've already posted about the mortuary and my next post will be the manor.

I'm slowly working on my confidence as some places (such as the mortuary) spook me, especially when they're dark and have corners that you can't see around immediately.

Thanks for reading,

SpookyJim

Hi Spookyjim,

Welcome to the forum, happy and safe dereliction hunting. I would really appreciate it if you could read the guide to posting location reports as your reports so far haven't really met the requirements.

I look forward to seeing more successes though!

Welcome to the nuthouse, I turn seventy one come Saturday and I've bin exploring since I was six, so I've got a few years on you, no cameras back then but the freedom to go where I liked, The one piece of advice I'll offer is, if you don't feel comfortable with an explore, then leave it, you can always go back, Stay Safe.

Welcome from another sort of noob, I have only been on here a while after being on ukurbex for a long while but I think you'll find these folks most friendly.
As for the morgue get a good torch and get in there sir. :)

Welcome!

I'm also from the south east, there is a reasonable amount of good locations round this way for sure.
You will get used to the spook factor after a while after you have been through enough dark spoopy tunnels. I suggest Coulsdon Deep Shelter as a good starting point(assuming its still accessible)

Get yourself a decent torch(s) if you don't already. Most the guys round here use LED Lenser P7's or the cheaper CREE torches (Which are great too depending which one you get). If you are doing proper underground stuff bring multiple torches for backup.

Tripod is a must for anything vaguely low light too.

Nice one on doing Silverlands Manor, I thought they locked that place down earlier this year.

Welcome to the forum fellow Surrey dweller! Gromr gave some good advice there, I'd add a good P3 respirator to your kit as well. I never go out exploring without a few in my bag. There is a lot of nasty stuff hanging in the air in a lot of these, not just asbestos.

You are in very good company here. I'm sure if you have any questions people will be happy to help. Stay safe!

They did, apparently some kid slipped and sliced his upper arm open, so they put in Razor wire, CCTV and sealed all entrances, so the manor was unsuccessful :(

Can't believe your doing it so young! good on you and you must have some serious cohunes!

Good luck mate

My Visit !

Had a nice trip here last year.. First time I've properly been urban exploring! Was absolutely amazing. Pitch black must've been around 10 o'clock at night.. Noticed night vis CCTV and a fence all the way round with spikes on top... Still didn't stop us. Chucked jumpers on the top and pulled ourselves up... Avoiding the front gate! Saw how dark and eery the place was from the outside and it gave me goosebumps like mad!

Anyway found access to the front entrance as the door was smashed in. Walking through every single room without fail! Turned to the main room on the left as you walk in and there's a sign in book which is signed of course.. ;) porn magazine... And lots and lots of keys and tapes! Walked through the pitch black with one single phone torch taking pictures and videos of near enough everything. Came across a toilet with a human sh** inside... Also found some old newspapers upstairs. As we were walking round upstairs I noticed a small light coming from a room.

So i walked slowly to the room on my right and immediately in front of me was a small TV with my face on it in black and white!!! F***** ! Heart skipped a few beats and we had a chuckle then carried on lol anyway found underground basements and the tunnels running through that was rather cold and creepy! Getting to around 1am we decided to leave as we explored pretty much everything there! Dead pigeons... Rubble.. Golden Damp crystals .. Newspapers.. Keys... Video tapes... Lots of stuff to be found! Best place I've been to yet!

Note: Went for a second time a few weeks later and gained access, but saw security behind us with a torch wondering around. We all ran up to the roof and watched them looking for us for a good hour and a bit! Just be careful noisewise and light wise... If you can't see the cameras then they can't see you. Stay low and be fast on your approach to the building! Regards.. Muldoon!
