Hey guys,

Met up with diluted to see the mill for possibly the last time(for me anyway) as it is up demo in the next few months.
You all know the history of the place, I guess, as it's been done to death. I had to go back and see as much of the site as I was happy seeing. The floors are AWFUL in places, as diluted will probably tell you when he posts his pics up.
Had a great day, the weather was gorgeous, the Police were off covering the footy match, so we were pretty much good for the whole morning. No druggies, just lots of their "stuff".
I'm not surprised that this building is going, after seeing it inside. The wooden floors throughout are OK, but where the roof has gone, it's collapsed from top to bottom. Not good. The brick work seemed pretty good, as did most of the metal flooring and machinery. I guess it's just past repairing now. Such a shame, as it really is a cracking place!!

Great photos Virusman, was good to meet you and explore a great area.
I have to agree about the floors... really dodgy.
The sad thing is, I don't think *any* photos can do that green room at the top justice. I'm glad the stairs were structurally sound, it was good to be able to see as much of the building as possible.

Photos to come soon, still trying to make them look better than they are in photoshop.

Some of my photos.
I have a full set on flickr, but there are about 85 so I wont post them all here. Some are pretty much the same as Virusmans photos, so I've left them out.

The full set posted on flickr (85 photos, edit down from a hell of a lot more)

I've showed more of the area itself on here, in the full set there are close-ups and detail shots as well as a couple of views out of the building.

Thanks again to Virusman for showing me the way there and being a top bloke :)
This place was like a proper Gears of War setting.

very industrial. i love the photo's, well captured & shows the place off really well :)

Cheers all. Well done to diluted for spotting some cool macro shots that I just walked straight past!! Nice set of shots, they look great on Flickr. :)

Cheers man, I really like yours as well. I thought that was you when I saw the friend request.
I just have a thing for close-ups at the moment. The lens I used has a really good minimum focusing distance, though I'm currently saving for the Canon 100mm f2.8 macro.
I just wish my lens had less distortion at the extreme wide end.

I wouldn't moan too much. Your shots look much sharper than most I've seen. I've been looking for a good flashgun that will fit my camera since the explore!!!!!!:)

go for a dedicated one.
it will cost more, but save hassle and calculate exposure for you.
you can still alter the power though if need be.

as for sharpness, the lens I use cost about as much as the camera, so it better be sharp. I also added a little USM in photoshop just to gain a little bit extra detail.
